I had some left over string blocks from a May workshop. They were turned in too late to make it into the quilts to be donated for a 4th of July event.
Rather than continue to store them, I used them plus a few more that guild volunteers made at a quilt shop sew-in day in August. I still needed to make about 20 more to stretch them into these 3 quilts but they’re finished. Yay!
Five down, one quilt to go!
All 3 quilts finish at approximately 50″ x 70″ with the first one being a little bit longer.
Once October 1st rolls around, our household switches into holiday mode so quilting gets put on hold until the first of the year and our house generally looks like the aftermath of a Category 2 hurricane that no one properly prepared for. LOL.
This is an “in progress” gallery of photos from last year to give you some idea. Neighborhood kids are already stopping on the way to or from school to ask my husband when is he going to start decorating for Halloween. 🙂
Once Halloween passes, a few things go out for Thanksgiving but the big push begins for Christmas decorating. As much work as it is, and as often as my husband says “I’m going to scale back a little this year”, he never does. He knows how much the kids (and their parents) look forward to it . ♥
